Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) today asked the Obama administration to investigate what he called “the greatest scientific scandal of our generation” — the actions of climate scientists revealed by the Climategate files, and the subsequent admissions by the editors of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Fourth Assessment Report (AR4).

Senator Inhofe also called for former Vice President Al Gore to be called back to the Senate to testify.

“In [Gore's] science fiction movie, every assertion has been rebutted,” Inhofe said. He believes Vice President Gore should defend himself and his movie before Congress.

Just prior to a hearing at 10:00 a.m. EST, Senator Inhofe released a minority staff report from the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, of which he is ranking member. Senator Inhofe is asking the Department of Justice to investigate whether there has been research misconduct or criminal actions by the scientists involved, including Dr. Michael Mann of Pennsylvania State University and Dr. James Hansen of Columbia University and the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies.

This report, obtained exclusively by Pajamas Media before today’s hearing, alleges:

[The] Minority Staff of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works believe the scientists involved may have violated fundamental ethical principles governing taxpayer-funded research and, in some cases, federal laws. In addition to these findings, we believe the emails and accompanying documents seriously compromise the IPCC -backed “consensus” and its central conclusion that anthropogenic emissions are inexorably leading to environmental catastrophes.

As has been reported here at Pajamas Media over the last several months, the exposure of the Climategate files has led to a reexamination of the IPCC Assessment Reports, especially the fourth report (AR4), published in 2007. The IPCC AR4 report was named by Environmental Protection Agency head Lisa Jackson as one of the major sources of scientific support for the agency’s Endangerment Finding, the first step towards allowing the EPA to regulate carbon dioxide as a pollutant.

Just before Christmas, Stephanie Willette went from being a healthy nursing student to suddenly being a helpless patient paralyzed from the neck down with a tracheotomy so she could breathe.

Today the 20-year-old is slowly recovering in a Kingston rehab hospital, still unable to sit up, but hoping that she’ll eventually walk again.

Bomb detection scanners that have been used in the terrorism ravaged south of the country for six years have just been shown to be completely useless after exhaustive tests arranged by the Thai government.

It’s pretty embarrassing for the Thai Army, which has shelled out more than 20 million dollars on the GT200 devices made by a UK manufacturer, Global Technical.

But what’s even more shocking is that this same device has been sold to 30 countries around the world, according to Global Technical.

How many lives have therefore been potentially lost because police officers and soldiers are using a bomb scanner that simply doesn’t work.

In the tests carried out in Thailand, a quantity of explosives was placed in one of four boxes and then a team equipped with the GT200 was assigned to find the cache.

They were only successful 20 per cent of the time. It would have been better if they had played “eeny-meany-miney-mo”.

The academic at the centre of the ‘Climategate’ affair, whose raw data is crucial to the theory of climate change, has admitted that he has trouble ‘keeping track’ of the information.

Colleagues say that the reason Professor Phil Jones has refused Freedom of Information requests is that he may have actually lost the relevant papers.

Professor Jones told the BBC yesterday there was truth in the observations of colleagues that he lacked organisational skills, that his office was swamped with piles of paper and that his record keeping is ‘not as good as it should be’.

The data is crucial to the famous ‘hockey stick graph’ used by climate change advocates to support the theory.

Professor Jones also conceded the possibility that the world was warmer in medieval times than now – suggesting global warming may not be a man-made phenomenon.

A member of the panel set up to investigate claims that climate change scientists covered up flawed data was forced to resign just hours after the inquiry’s launch.

Philip Campbell stood down after it was disclosed he had given an interview in which he defended the conduct of researchers at University of East Anglia’s Climatic Research Unit (CRU), insisting they had done nothing wrong.

In a statement, he said he was stepping down in order to ensure that the ability of the review team to carry out its investigation would not be called into question.

The inquiry, led by the distinguished civil servant Sir Muir Russell, was set up after hacked emails from the CRU scientists prompted accusations that they had been manipulating the data.

However Channel 4 News reported last night that Dr Campbell, the editor-in-chief of the journal Nature, told Chinese State Radio last year that he did not believe the emails showed any evidence of improper conduct.

‘The scientists have not hidden the data. If you look at the emails there is one or two bits of language that are jargon used between professionals that suggest something to outsiders that is wrong,’ he told the station.

The Climategate Emails describe how a small band of climatologists cooked the books to make the last century seem dangerously warm.

The emails also describe how the band plotted to rewrite history as well as science, particularly by eliminating the Medieval Warm Period, a 400 year period that began around 1000 AD.

The Climategate Emails reveal something else, too: the enlistment of the most widely read source of information in the world — Wikipedia — in the wholesale rewriting of this history.

The Medieval Warm Period, which followed the meanness and cold of the Dark Ages, was a great time in human history — it allowed humans around the world to bask in a glorious warmth that vastly improved agriculture, increased life spans and otherwise bettered the human condition.

But the Medieval Warm Period was not so great for some humans in our own time — the same small band that believes the planet has now entered an unprecedented and dangerous warm period. As we now know from the Climategate Emails, this band saw the Medieval Warm Period as an enormous obstacle in their mission of spreading the word about global warming. If temperatures were warmer 1,000 years ago than today, the Climategate Emails explain in detail, their message that we now live in the warmest of all possible times would be undermined. As put by one band member, a Briton named Folland at the Hadley Centre, a Medieval Warm Period “dilutes the message rather significantly.”

I love the way they renamed Global Warming to Climate Change a few years ago, that way no matter what the weather does it can be blamed on ‘Climate Change’. If the planet is getting hotter its because of all the hot air being spoken by the eco idiots. Even a grade school science class will teach you that in order to prove a theory you must test it against all other possible causes for the outcome you reach.

Note: YOU MUST PROVE THE THEORY. There is no scientific requirement for disproval.

If you cannot prove the theory then it is never accepted as fact or scientific law.

Global Wamring/Climate Change/Catch Phrase of the Week has never been proven, which is why it remains a theory. If you want anyone to ever treat it as fact it must be proven, not disproven.

Do date, nobody on earth can prove the theory because nobody on earth is capable of disproving natural causes.

Thus, it remains nothing more than a theory, which any true scientist would accept as being nothing more than an unproven belief with a notable lack of evidience supporting it.

Warming would continue to rise from 2001? It’s colder!
Polar bears were decreasing in record numbers? Of the 11 main kinds of polar bear only 2 have either stabilised or shown a slight decrease. Others have all increased.
Carbon dioxide omissions caused a warming effect? In fact it is the reverse. Indeed the planet was warmer 1000 years ago yet where was the industrialisation pumping out the Carbon Dioxide then?

Nothing they have said is true and only the EU the US and, unfortunately now they have a socialist leader, Australia believe it and are committing their respective countries to economic suicide by remaining disciples of it.

MINNEAPOLIS — A urologist has been indefinitely barred from inpatient surgery for removing the wrong kidney of one patient and taking a biopsy from another’s patient’s pancreas instead of a kidney. Dr. Erol Uke has signed the disciplinary ruling from the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice, agreeing that his actions justify the board’s discipline.

The ruling said Uke could regain surgical privileges if the board later determines he’s competent to do so.

In what must rank as one of the most bizarre ID requests ever, an office worker claims she had to prove she was over 21 to buy a slice of quiche.

Christine Cuddihy, 24, was handed the cheese and onion tart – costing 51p – at the deli counter of the Tesco in Coventry and then took it to the till.

She says the cashier then refused to sell it to her because she ‘looked under 21′.

Proof of age schemes exist in supermarkets to stop youngsters buying alcohol and cigarettes. There have been incidents where these rules were applied in an overzealous manner when it comes alcohol – but never over a slice of quiche.

Despite her protestations the till girl refused to back down and a humiliated Christine was forced to produce her driving licence in order to buy the slice.

She said: ‘The girl told me: “You don’t look over 21. I need to see some proof of age.”

‘I told her I was certain the proof of age laws do not apply to quiche but she just said: “We have to be really strict now and this applies to quiche bought over the counter.”
